Polymotional

Spring Time for Hooke's Law

I've started work on a little Flash game to keep me occupied. The core mechanic will revolve around objects trailing each other and being connected via Hooke's Law, a law of physics that can be used to simulate objects on springs, first discovered by Robert Hooke two years before his appointment as Curator of Experiments to the Royal Society.

It sounds incredibly boring now, but I promise that the finished game will be a lot more fun than Monday morning Physics lessons.

It's a long way off a finished game, but you can check out the initial proof of concept experiments as they happen in the Experimental Portfolio section in the meantime.

Intermediary Upgrades

Well, I've got time on my hands again, so I've started messing around with the site once more. This is just an intermediary graphical update before I move on to a more graphically conscious layout with some planned improvements including an better portfolio browsing system.

This is aimed to bring the site more in line with the 'polymotional' concept, hence sprucing it up with more visual activity as well as a more involved structure.

(Oh, and I've dropped the flexible template for now as well, I hope it doesn't cause you too much discomfort).

Virtual Realty

Today Cooper Estates Limited were pleased to sign off on their new website design, which is now live. You can find out more about this project in the online section of my portfolio.

Flexified

Users with Standards Compliant browsers should notice that the site has changed slightly.

I've implemented a semi-flexible layout in the style sheets in which the main body column and the side column expand to make better use of larger monitors. The navigation bar remains at a fixed width to assist in usability and there are minimum and maximum widths for the page as a whole to prevent legitibility being impaired by text columns becoming too wide or too narrow.

I plan on transfering a similar layout over to the Internet Explorer style sheets, although I expect this to entale further tweeking to accomodate Internet Explorer's CSS 'quirks'.

Printfolio

Just to let you know that I have started populating the Print Portfolio section. Enjoy.
